Brandon A. Jessup
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Over the past decade, Brandon A. Jessup has committed himself to being a dedicated community advocate and activist for human rights and equal representation of all people. Jessup recently served as the Voter Protection Advocate for the State of Michigan with the Advancement Project. Prior to joining the Advancement Project Jessup was the Special Events Manager for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He has also served in the capacity as Regional Coordinator for One United Michigan, the campaign created to oppose and defeat Proposal 2, the anti-Affirmative Action Initiative.

A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Jessup is currently the advisor to the Michigan State Conference of the NAACP; has served as a member of the NAACP Resolutions Committee; Leadership Committee of the Michigan Voice coalition; Young Democrats of America Michigan Young Democrats National Committeeman to the Young Democrats of America and Columnist for the Michigan FrontPage.

David A. Wiggins
Vice-Chairman

An activist, counselor, educator, encourager, mentor and motivational speaker describe David A. Wiggins. Wiggins currently serves as Vice-Chairman for Michigan Forward. In addition to serving as Vice-Chairman, Wiggins is an educator in Boca Raton, Florida. Prior to teaching in Palm Beach County Florida, he served on the NAACP National Board of Directors representing the youth and college division for seven states.

Wiggins graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2007 with Bachelors degree in Language, Literature Writing and with a minor in Political Science. He has received numerous awards for his leadership, commitment to the advancing of civil rights legislation, and speaking truth to power. He is often consulted for his unique perspective on issues pertaining to youth and young adults.

LaToya A. Henry
Treasurer-Secretary

LaToya A. Henry is a rising entrepreneur who recently started her own communications, public relations, marketing and branding firm, WardHill Omni Media LLC. As the Chief Operations Officer, LaToya oversees various communications, pr, marketing and branding strategies for WardHill’s clients.

In 2001, LaToya obtained her Master’s of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from FAMU. During her tenure there she produced, directed, wrote and edited a 30-minute documentary entitled “Informal Adoption in the African American Community.” LaToya received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Language and Literature from the University of Michigan in 1998.

LaToya presently serves on the board of Michigan Forward as the Secretary-Treasurer. Her leadership experience also includes being Advisor to the Detroit NAACP Youth Council and Region III Adult Representative to the NAACP’s National Youth Works Committee. In 2008, the Michigan Chronicle selected her as Young History Maker. She is the youngest of five siblings and the proud daughter of Marion and Selena Henry.

Mary Broner

Beginning her journey in community outreach as a high school student, Mary Anne Broner remained on the road of community and civil rights advocacy while attending Eastern Michigan University. There she became an active member of the NAACP where she sat on various committees and served on the executive board as the membership relations chairwoman for two years. With her enthusiastic and meticulous personality as well as having a reputation of being a resourceful professional among her peers, Mary is dedicated to her work in community and civil rights advocacy and plans to continue to fight for the rights of others.

Mary Anne Broner graduated from Eastern Michigan University in spring 2006 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in psychology with a minor in communications. She has recently obtained her Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Ms. Broner’s other affiliations include; member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Pi Gamma Zeta (Southfield, MI) Alumni Chapter.
