Detroit City Council December 2011 Hearing on Cost Cutting Alternatives

On December 1, 2011 Detroit’s City Council held a public hearing to explore cost cutting alternatives in light of the community’s financial crisis. This public hearing attracted community organizations, residents and employees and employee unions with options to build Detroit’s finances and resolve its fiscal deficit.
During the two and a half hour hearing, many spoke about revenue and expense issues in City operations that could resolve the city deficit.
